On the 29th of December, St Therese of Lisieux Church was blessed with a particularly beautiful Solemn High Mass. The celebrant was Fr Damian McCaughan, the Deacon Fr Andrew Black and the Sub-Deacon Fr Martin Graham. Sacred music was provided, par excellence, by the Lux Chamber Choir.

A catafalque is a representation of a coffin covered by the black pall and surrounded by six unbleached candles; it is a symbolic representation of the deceased. When it is present, the priest sings the absolution for the deceased as if the body was present.
